Abstract

The pseudo-Theology offered to the Muslim philosophers the key to solve the difficulty of having Aristotle boldly criticizing Plato. In addition, it offered to them the way to integrate in their account of creation the Neoplatonic doctrine of causality that Philoponus enforced against Proclus, when he charged him with having inferred the nature of the cause from that of the effect.
