the present note describes the most north-west-ward record in the Mediterranean Sea of the bluespotted cornetfish, fistularia commersonii Ruppell, , and a further finding of the blunthead puffer fish, Sphoeroides pachygaster (Muller & Troschel, 1848). Morphometric and meristic characters of the two specimens collected are provided. The bluespotted cornetfish, a maturing male, was the largest specimen collected up to now in the mediterranean sea. The blunthead puffer fish was a juvenile male.
