This paper studies the measurement of magnetism in composite resonator structures. First, we report the main steps of a theoretical analysis developed by the authors in a recent study showing how a composite resonator structure can lead to obtain unusual magnetic behavior in the low and industrial frequency ranges. Then, we describe the single unit-cell setup and the resonator structure adopted for our measurement analysis. Finally, we analyze the effect of field nonuniformity over the region of interest and we comment on the measurement of the effective magnetic permeability in composite media.

Abstract

This paper studies the measurement of magnetism in composite resonator structures. First, we report the main steps of a theoretical analysis developed by the authors in a recent study showing how a composite resonator structure can lead to obtain unusual magnetic behavior in the low and industrial frequency ranges. Then, we describe the single unit-cell setup and the resonator structure adopted for our measurement analysis. Finally, we analyze the effect of field nonuniformity over the region of interest and we comment on the measurement of the effective magnetic permeability in composite media.
