The three known Egyptian recipes for the preparation of kyphi mention 16 ingredients, 8 of which can be identified with certainty. Of the remaining ingredients, a substance called agAj or nkpt is to be identified with the XXth Dyn. word nkpAtj. It occurs often in conjunction with iwft. It is argued that nkpt might be the designation for mace, a spice prepared from the aril of nutmeg, while iwft might be the nutmeg itself.

Abstract
The three known Egyptian recipes for the preparation of kyphi mention 16 ingredients, 8 of which can be identified with certainty. Of the remaining ingredients, a substance called agAj or nkpt is to be identified with the XXth Dyn. word nkpAtj. It occurs often in conjunction with iwft. It is argued that nkpt might be the designation for mace, a spice prepared from the aril of nutmeg, while iwft might be the nutmeg itself.File in questo prodotto:
