In this paper a novel nonlinear channel compensation technique based on a data predistortion algorithm is illustrated for the forward link of a wireless MC-CDMA transmission. The proposed method consists in a simple iterative procedure according to which the symbol constellations of all the active users are jointly predistorted taking into account the multiple access interference which degrades the performance of each MC-CDMA terminal unit. The relevant per- formance evaluated by simulation shows an appreciable reduction of the overall loss and a definite robustness against the different methods for the allocations of the user’s signatures.

Abstract

In this paper a novel nonlinear channel compensation technique based on a data predistortion algorithm is illustrated for the forward link of a wireless MC-CDMA transmission. The proposed method consists in a simple iterative procedure according to which the symbol constellations of all the active users are jointly predistorted taking into account the multiple access interference which degrades the performance of each MC-CDMA terminal unit. The relevant per- formance evaluated by simulation shows an appreciable reduction of the overall loss and a definite robustness against the different methods for the allocations of the user’s signatures.
