There is a growing interest about the natural circulation and its applications. A special attention has to be paid on the anti-gravity natural circulation. At the Department of Energetic has been made an experimental set-up to transfer heat and mass against gravity ,called Two-phase Antigravity Thermosyphon (TAT). This work described this apparatus and all the experimental tests that have been carried on about it. Two different fluids (R113 and HCFC 141b) have been used and some different thermal power levels (400, 600 e 800 W) have been investigated. An extreme regularity of behaviour has been observed. The tests have been useful to understand the physical mechanism of the heat and mass transport and the cyclic thermal pulsed behaviour of the TAT. Besides a characterisation of the main thermodynamic transformations of TAT has been proposed. The characterisation has been made by means of energy and mass balances and of a photographic analysis.
