On “Linearity” and “Non Linearity” of CI Implementation Results from a (New) Methodological Approach

We could try to synthetize the content of our contribution by using the following metaphor: who is the best driver? The one who learned to drive from a driving-instructor or a self-made driver? Out of metaphor: is a company that follows a linear approach in the CI development more effective than another one that follows a “casual” approach? Starting from different interpretations (and contradictions as well) on the how CI develops (from the CI maturity model on), we provide first an operative definition of CI and, second, evidence that having a “driving-instructor” does work.
