The article discusses two late antique bilingual papyrus fragments now in German libraries, in the context of ancient lexicography, with special focus on the identification of criteria for the selection of lexical items, the use of diacritics to highlight rarity of lexical usage and the insertion of section headings containing morphosyntactic information. Finally, some attention is paid to the possible links of the two fragments with extant bilingual dictionaries surviving in Western medieval collections, especially the so-called Cyrillus glossary.

Abstract

Finally, some attention is paid to the possible links of the two fragments with extant bilingual dictionaries surviving in Western medieval collections, especially the so-called Cyrillus glossary.File in questo prodotto:
