The present document reports an analysis of the public information and of specific data collected on the Viareggio LPG transport accident, occurred on June 29th, 2009. The aim of the analysis was to understand the sequence of the phenomena that followed the LPG release caused by the train derailment. A first evaluation of consequences was carried out, identifying the extesion of damage areas. This report was developed for scientific purposes only. The reported data were collected from newspapers/public websites or from direct observation. An official inquiry on the accident is still open.
