This article aims at investigating and explaining the idea of frontier in one of the most important Spanish republican exile writers, Ramón J. Sender, as it comes out in the analysis of his "Relatos fronterizos" (1970). Our purpose is to prove that the frontier in a refugee author has mainly a negative meaning of separation boundary, barrier, fracture, whether you consider it from a real, geographical perspective or from a cultural, social and, even more, linguistic point of view.
