A flowmeter for liquids based on an integrated temperature sensor is presented. The sensor, which is in thermal contact with the liquid flowing inside a pipe, is heated by an integrated polysilicon resistor. Measurement of the temperature of the liquid, which is generally accomplished by a second reference sensor, is obtained periodically switching off the heater. A specially devised integrated circuit has been designed and fabricated in order to provide correct driving of the sensor. The response of the sensor to flow values in the range 3-30 I/h is presented.

Abstract
A flowmeter for liquids based on an integrated temperature sensor is presented. The sensor, which is in thermal contact with the liquid flowing inside a pipe, is heated by an integrated polysilicon resistor. Measurement of the temperature of the liquid, which is generally accomplished by a second reference sensor, is obtained periodically switching off the heater. A specially devised integrated circuit has been designed and fabricated in order to provide correct driving of the sensor. The response of the sensor to flow values in the range 3-30 I/h is presented.File in questo prodotto:
