In Tuscany there is a marked contrast between the north reticul structure, where urban treshold values have fallen because of both the acceleration of processes concerning the banalisation of services, and the opportunity for most business to make use of external economies in spheres othr than of the cities; and the south, still dominated by a centre-periphery dialect which further penalises "slower" regional situations contributing only marginally to regional income. We are observing a general trend towards a new kind of spatial organisation, based more on a qualitative relations between towns than on the "old" hierarchical scales. A number of new development processes and spatial dynamics have been taking place, leading to the emergence of difference within the areas themselves: Valdarno and the Tyrrhenian coastal one.

Abstract
In Tuscany there is a marked contrast between the north reticul structure, where urban treshold values have fallen because of both the acceleration of processes concerning the banalisation of services, and the opportunity for most business to make use of external economies in spheres othr than of the cities; and the south, still dominated by a centre-periphery dialect which further penalises "slower" regional situations contributing only marginally to regional income. We are observing a general trend towards a new kind of spatial organisation, based more on a qualitative relations between towns than on the "old" hierarchical scales. A number of new development processes and spatial dynamics have been taking place, leading to the emergence of difference within the areas themselves: Valdarno and the Tyrrhenian coastal one.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
