This paper is about the use of Pisan style of dating the Marseille scrolls from the XI to the half of the XIII century. The importance of the spread of the Pisan style in Provence, already noticed by Charles Higounet, is confirmed and recognized not only in the documents created within the monastery of St. Victor of Marseilles, but also in those by the Count of Provence and by the Archbishop of Arles. For the XI century the analysis reveals a large amount of documents without any chronological indication: phenomenon that decreases while the city becomes a great portal and commercial town. The dated acts show a net importance of a style of incarnation known as “vulgar” with some peaks of use of the Pisan style, which is imposed as a “civic” style since the 60s of the XII century. One last change in the ways of dating, with the abrupt transition from the Pisan to the Florentin style, it is recorded in the course of 1223, probably in relation to certain institutional changes caused by a strong domestic political instability.
