The EN version of the Eurocode 1 - Actions on Structures, recently approved by the technical committe TC250 of CEN, gave the definition of the exceptional value of the snow load on the ground and the appropriate load combinations to be used for the U.L.S. verifications. In this paper the data of four Italian meteorological stations, where the snow precipitations have been observed for about one hundred years, are analyzed. The exceptional values have been calculated according the definition of the Eurocode 1. Since in many cases the exceptional loads take low values, load cobinations with the permanent loads of light roofs have been calculated, to evaluate the effect of a more refined statistical analysis on the U.L.S. verifications, when the snow load is the governing action.

Abstract
The EN version of the Eurocode 1 - Actions on Structures, recently approved by the technical committe TC250 of CEN, gave the definition of the exceptional value of the snow load on the ground and the appropriate load combinations to be used for the U.L.S. verifications. In this paper the data of four Italian meteorological stations, where the snow precipitations have been observed for about one hundred years, are analyzed. The exceptional values have been calculated according the definition of the Eurocode 1. Since in many cases the exceptional loads take low values, load cobinations with the permanent loads of light roofs have been calculated, to evaluate the effect of a more refined statistical analysis on the U.L.S. verifications, when the snow load is the governing action.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
