Turbomachinery is one of the most critical parts of pump-fed liquid rocket engines. For this reason, a deep study of this complex machine prior to its employment needs to be performed with particular attention to fluid dynamic instabilities arising in centrifugal pumps and inducers, principal responsible for the possible loss of the launch vehicle. In particular, two different ongoing projects at Sitael S.p.A., focusing on the unsteady fluid forces generated by cavitation and on the high order surge instability detection, led to the need of a new acquisition system capable of measuring the pressure and forces fluctuations in the rotating reference frame. The novel system is made of a stack of electronic board capable of operating under a stressed environment of 80 °C and 3000 rpm. A brief description of the electronic configuration is here presented along with its main characteristics and applicability in the ongoing activities at Sitael S.p.A.
