It is well known that the pseudo-Theology of Aristotle is a heavily adapted translation of some of Plotinus’ treatises taken from Enneads IV-VI. What is not well known is the textual tradition of the pseudo-Theology. Some of its manuscripts have been studied in the past, but thanks to the ERC project “Greek into Arabic” (2010-2015) new data have been found, that suggest reconsidering from the outset the textual history of this work as it is accounted for in the admittedly few studies on the topic. Some remarks on the history of the relevant scholarship can help to set the scene of this paper, with its focus on what seems to be a tiny but interesting readership of the ps.-Theology attested by manuscripts dating back to the age of Mehmed the Conqueror (r. 854-885/1451-1481).
