Iulius Urbanus, "sevir" in Segusio (CIL, V,7262), was a freedman of Cottius I, deceased before AD 13, i.e. already under Augustus. The "vikani Segusini" of CIL, V, 7261 (mid I century AD) are the "municipes" living outside the urban centre. Moreover an inscription from Chatillon (Inscr.It., XI,1, n.40), with a freedwoman of Cottius (I or II), attests an influence of the Cottian dynasty in Augusta Praetoria, as well as in Augusta Taurinorum.
