La nascita di un quartiere residenziale: le domus ai piedi della Torre tra II e I secolo a.C.

The paper analyses the establishment of a late-Republican age residential district in the eastern sector of Piazza del Duomo, datable to the central decades of the first half of the second century BC, and the building phases distinguished by the end of the first century BC: in this period, at least two domus located to the east of a north-south oriented road axis have been identified, although from few wall portions. These houses were inserted within a regular urban network, apparently set already in the Etruscan age.
