Abstract

In recent years, great attention has been paid on Wireless Sensors Networks (WSN) in agriculture sector. Nowadays, the problems that limit their use are the high cost of and the limited autonomy of each node. The design of high efficiency converters can provide great help in breaking down these limitations. This paper shows a procedure for sizing the photovoltaic panel, the battery and the converter capable of maximizing autonomy and reducing costs. The potential of the system is validated through simulations.
