Knowledge management is of utmost interest in any aspect of nuclear technology, particularly nuclear safety Severe Accidents (SA) dominate the small risk associated with the commercial production of nuclear energy, and a vast amount of research has been done for decades An efficient transfer of this knowledge and a firm assessment of the current State‐of‐Art to the generation who are inheriting such legacy would be a major contribution to nuclear safety of the present & future nuclear fleet: this is the objective of the SEAKNOT project SEAKNOT builds upon existing knowledge on SA and intends to exploit the results of mostly European framework (EURATOM SARNET projects or SNETP/NUGENIA TA2 in‐kind projects and activities). Initiatives aimed at the SA knowledge transfer to young generations might be better integrated & coordinated, allowing efficient dissemination of the State‐of‐Art, enhancing & networking efforts initiated in the past decades by different European organizations to maintain and develop E&T in the nuclear safety field.
