In this paper, we propose a miniaturized Annular Ring (AR) microstrip antenna for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). A conventional annular ring antenna was opportunely scaled, and a working frequency of 2.4 GHz with a bandwidth of 160 MHz is achieved. To the aim of effectively integrating this antenna onto a UAV vehicle, the radiating element engineering has been carried out. The proposed antenna design has a diameter of 107 mm and height of 16 mm. The weight of the whole system is about 100 g, and it is mechanically and electromagnetically stable, also when the antenna is coated by a dielectric cover which protect it from the external environment.
