This paper aims to investigate how a firm may manage the largely unaddressed Circular Economy Rebound (CER) effect. An exploratory case study was conducted in an Italian firm to assess CER and identify its causes. Through the Contingency Theory, three guidelines were developed that a firm may adopt to manage CER. The guidelines allow firms to manage CER by fixing the CER-induced misfit between environmental contingencies and the organisational factors related to circular Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM). The results contribute to the OSCM research stream and the lack of theoretical guidance that the Circular Economy field suffers from.

Abstract
This paper aims to investigate how a firm may manage the largely unaddressed Circular Economy Rebound (CER) effect. An exploratory case study was conducted in an Italian firm to assess CER and identify its causes. Through the Contingency Theory, three guidelines were developed that a firm may adopt to manage CER. The guidelines allow firms to manage CER by fixing the CER-induced misfit between environmental contingencies and the organisational factors related to circular Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM). The results contribute to the OSCM research stream and the lack of theoretical guidance that the Circular Economy field suffers from.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
