The chief purpose of this paper is to discuss the possibility to recognize an Egyptian terminology or categorization about so-called 'sacred animals', paying particular attention to the two main classes the texts allow us to identify and trying to ascertain the specific devices and lexical choices by means of which such a distinction was communicated.
