This work concerns BPM (Business Process Management), more specifically the convenience and the possibility of managing companies as “Processes Group”, that is sub companies sundered from the main company and managed through Integrating IT Instruments,. So, the “Processes Group” is constituted by a Holding Process followed by several Business Processes and Support Processes, in the same way it happens for Groups of enterprises. In the present work we consider only some specific problems concerning the “Processes Group” model: the governance, the boundaries, the relationship between Processes, the size. We finally give a concrete example for the application of the above mentioned business strategies to SMEs, in the case of a small shipyard. This example shows that, even in the case of very small companies, the model can be easily understood and it is a valid organizing instrument when using ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics Nav.
