In this paper, analysis of broadband absorbers for reducing the electromagnetic interference (EMI) is carried out in the frequency range from 6 to 14 GHz (i.e., X-band). Two different resistive FSS-based absorbers are designed using efficient equivalent circuit model. To analyze the utility of the designed absorbers for the EMI application, transmission coefficient (S21) of the transverse EM wave is evaluated by using the waveguide method through accurate full wave simulations. Besides absorption, computed S21 for the different configurations are compared to assess the resistive FSSs capability also in the EMI reduction.

Abstract
In this paper, analysis of broadband absorbers for reducing the electromagnetic interference (EMI) is carried out in the frequency range from 6 to 14 GHz (i.e., X-band). Two different resistive FSS-based absorbers are designed using efficient equivalent circuit model. To analyze the utility of the designed absorbers for the EMI application, transmission coefficient (S21) of the transverse EM wave is evaluated by using the waveguide method through accurate full wave simulations. Besides absorption, computed S21 for the different configurations are compared to assess the resistive FSSs capability also in the EMI reduction.File in questo prodotto:
