Light carving into matter, lamps and light-based evocations that excavate, dig into and sculpt structures, creating cavities, exploiting niches, carving volumes and walls, finding their own dedicated spaces… From such “housings” do flows and glows shine forth, colours are projected, wall surfaces shaped, sometimes as homages alluding to other lights perhaps no longer with us. Or even, simply, doing the groundwork to cast light on some special object. Work on a section that, within a broader perspective, sees architecture just over the horizon conceived as a light fixture, even if composed of smaller expedients: starting with a recess in a concrete wall between two flights of stairs, housing a small fluorescent tube, illuminating our steps with a surprising implant of light.
