The analysis of a group of five inscriptions (CIL, XI 327*-331*), transcribed by the local scholar from Orbetello Ferdinando Carchidio, considered non-genuine by E. Bormann and therefore relegated to the section of the falsae in CIL, IX, has allowed us to claim their genuineness. Two of these (CIL, IX 327* and IX 330*) are nowadays preserved in the Archaeological Museums of Bologna and Grosseto, the others are devoid of any elements that might suggest the activity of a forger.

Abstract
The analysis of a group of five inscriptions (CIL, XI 327*-331*), transcribed by the local scholar from Orbetello Ferdinando Carchidio, considered non-genuine by E. Bormann and therefore relegated to the section of the falsae in CIL, IX, has allowed us to claim their genuineness. Two of these (CIL, IX 327* and IX 330*) are nowadays preserved in the Archaeological Museums of Bologna and Grosseto, the others are devoid of any elements that might suggest the activity of a forger.File in questo prodotto:
