In Cato's Origines the autochthnony of Sabini is specially stressed as the foundation of Romano-Italic unity, whereas the Greek contribution to the origins of Rome and other Italian peoples is denied or minimized, as demonstrates the analysis of the fragments on Aborigines (fr. 5-6 P.), Arcades (fr. 19 P.), Pisa (fr. 45 P.), Falerii (fr. 47 P.), Tibur (fr. 56 P.),Petelia (fr. 70 P.), Tauriani (fr. 71 P.). For the fr. 45 and 71 a new textual restitution is proposed.
