The archaeological researches led by the Department of Civilizations and Forms of Knowledge in piazza Andrea del Sarto has revealed a long-standing frequentation, as evidenced by previously rescue archaeology interventions carried out by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. In particular, the research conducted within the “Pisa Progetto Suburbio” made it possible to investigate structures that, due to their state of preservation and architectural quality, can be identiied as Roman domus with elegant loors, courtyard, and gardens. Recognising a district of the city also made it possible to reason about the possible Forma Urbis of Pisa in Roman times.

Abstract
The archaeological researches led by the Department of Civilizations and Forms of Knowledge in piazza Andrea del Sarto has revealed a long-standing frequentation, as evidenced by previously rescue archaeology interventions carried out by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. In particular, the research conducted within the “Pisa Progetto Suburbio” made it possible to investigate structures that, due to their state of preservation and architectural quality, can be identiied as Roman domus with elegant loors, courtyard, and gardens. Recognising a district of the city also made it possible to reason about the possible Forma Urbis of Pisa in Roman times.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
