This paper presents the development and evolution of the web platforms for the Vocabolario Dantesco (VD) and the Vocabolario Dantesco Latino (VDL), emphasizing the collaborative efforts of the various institutions involved and the advancements in the digital management of lexicographical resources. TheOpera del Vocabolario Italiano (OVI) played a pivotal role, providing both the documentary foundation and essential technological tools, including the LexiCad system. This tool was crucial to the design of the editorial software used for the VD and VDL, supporting the dynamic processing and consultation of lexicographical data. After a brief overview of the general software architecture, the system’s potential is illustrated through the description of the features implemented in the latest updates. The last part of the paper discusses how the collaborative interaction between philology, linguistics, and Digital Humanities has significantly shaped the project, resulting in a platform capable of managing the bilingual lexicon of Dante across his Latin and vernacular works. Special attention is given to the integration of APIs and databases such as DanteSearch and Corpus Corporum on the VDL platform, which enhance the workflow for editors and researchers. The use of these technologies facilitates a comprehensive, diachronic analysis of Dante’s lexicon, linking Latin and vernacular data dynamically. Furthermore, the platform’s structure is designed for continuous updates, allowing for flexible and progressive enhancement of the lexicographical content, benefiting researchers, students, and the broader academic community.
