Gli statuti delle comunità mercantili lucchesi e fiorentine a Bruges nel tardo Medioevo

A comparison between the statutes of the Lucchese merchants and those of the Florentine merchants in Bruges during the late Middle Ages reveals the more ‘centralized’ nature of the Florentine statutes, which provided for a precise regulation of the conduct of their merchants’ activities a feature absent in the Lucchese statutes, where the consul was locally elected, whereas the Florentine consul was designated by the Consoli del mare of Florence.

Dal confronto fra gli statuti dei mercanti lucchesi e dei mercanti fiorentini a Bruges nel tardo Medioevo emerge il carattere più ‘centralista’ di quelli fiorentini che prevedevano una regolamentazione puntuale dello svolgimento delle attività dei loro mercanti, assente in quelli lucchesi che eleggevano direttamente il loro console, mentre quello fiorentino era designato dai Consoli del mare di Firenze.
