The book reconsiders the concepts of authorship, language, style and maniera. In particular, it proposes a speculation on mannerism – with lower case m – understood as a critical tool for understanding the entanglements between the architecture of the present and that of the past. The book provides an unconventional, transtemporal reading of mannerism, where facts, events and images belonging to different times and spaces are juxtaposed to generate a series of temporal paradoxes. It finally offers the distinctive viewpoint of an author who is at once engaged in scholarly research, design and construction, an author who has experienced an intense mannerist phase and has arguably overcome it.

Abstract
The book reconsiders the concepts of authorship, language, style and maniera. In particular, it proposes a speculation on mannerism – with lower case m – understood as a critical tool for understanding the entanglements between the architecture of the present and that of the past. The book provides an unconventional, transtemporal reading of mannerism, where facts, events and images belonging to different times and spaces are juxtaposed to generate a series of temporal paradoxes. It finally offers the distinctive viewpoint of an author who is at once engaged in scholarly research, design and construction, an author who has experienced an intense mannerist phase and has arguably overcome it.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
