In this paper, a ray launching algorithm to estimate the Half Power Beamwidth (HPBW) and Side Lobe Level (SLL) of a Fabry-Perot cavity is proposed. The primary objective is to compute the radiated electric field exclusively in the principal planes (E and H) by using a ray-launching technique. This algorithm is deployed on MATLAB® and the results are compared with those obtained through a commercial electromagnetic solver. By implementing representative test-cases, we proved that the developed code allows an averaged computational time reduction of around 1200 times maintaining, at the same time, a mean error of 2.14° and 2.33 dB for HPBW and SLL, respectively.
