Every weekend in Italy, thousands of people bring the past to life: in processions and palios, in historical encampments and re-enactment sites, in museums and archaeological parks, at festivals and celebrations. Centred around these experiences is a complex world of re-enactors, associations, scholars, craftspeople, institutions and local communities, in which historical research, participation, cultural heritage and tourism are intertwined. The Re-enactment Glossary has been created to establish a common language between worlds that are increasingly collaborating, yet do not always attribute the same meaning to the same words. It is intended as a critical and practical tool, developed through the exchange of diverse expertise, aimed at anyone working with the past in the public sphere. Its entries help to map out contemporary re-enactment, its practices and methods, its potential and its challenges.

Abstract
Its entries help to map out contemporary re-enactment, its practices and methods, its potential and its challenges.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
