The need for the evaluation of uncertainty associated with the prediction of computer codes in nuclear reactor safety technology is well established. Such an evaluation is mandatory when best estimate codes are adopted for safety analyses and in the licensing processes. Established methods exist to evaluate the uncertainty of thermal-hydraulic system code calculations that also have been accepted by Regulatory Authorities in different Member States. Within the IAEA framework, the Safety Series Reports Nos. 23 and 52, [1] and [2], and the recently issued Safety Standard SSG-2, [3], deal with the above subject and fix the current state of the art. The scope for the activity hereafter is limited to the water cooled nuclear reactors. The licensing process for current generation reactors, including license renewal, and for the so-called Generation 3+ is also within the scope of the present document.

Abstract
The licensing process for current generation reactors, including license renewal, and for the so-called Generation 3+ is also within the scope of the present document.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
