The nucleus Ge has been studied in two experiments performed at the Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro. Analysis of the measured angular distribution and polarization correlation for the 1665 keV gamma-ray emitted in fusion-evaporation reactions and previously assigned M2/E1 character suggests a mixing ratio larger than expected. This indicates that the amount of isospin impurity for the low-lying states could be much lower than the theoretical expectations.

Abstract
The nucleus Ge has been studied in two experiments performed at the Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro. Analysis of the measured angular distribution and polarization correlation for the 1665 keV gamma-ray emitted in fusion-evaporation reactions and previously assigned M2/E1 character suggests a mixing ratio larger than expected. This indicates that the amount of isospin impurity for the low-lying states could be much lower than the theoretical expectations.File in questo prodotto:
