The aim of this work was to investigate the growth performances, from hatch to about 110 days of life, of chickens belonging to Livorno breed, taken from the coastal territory of Pisa and Livorno. The study involved 324 chickens of three different varieties of plumage: white, black and brown. Growth curves were estimated for each variety and sex, using logistic and Gompertz equations. Predictably, it was marked a greater growth for males than for females from 14th day of life. Moreover, growth performances were better for the white and brown varieties than for black one
