We investigate the still existing uncertainties on the evolution of low-mass He-burning stars until the AGB phase, due either to the input physics or to the efficiency of some macroscopic mechanisms, like convection or atomic diffusion. In particular, the occurrence of the so called "breathing pulses" during the central He exhaustion is ruled out by the observations, in agreement with previous suggestions.

Abstract
We investigate the still existing uncertainties on the evolution of low-mass He-burning stars until the AGB phase, due either to the input physics or to the efficiency of some macroscopic mechanisms, like convection or atomic diffusion. In particular, the occurrence of the so called "breathing pulses" during the central He exhaustion is ruled out by the observations, in agreement with previous suggestions.File in questo prodotto:
