A bibliographical review on the heat and mass transfer in Closed Loop Two Phase Thermosyphons (CLTPT) in channels having a hydraulic diameter of the order of some millimetres and input power below 1 kW is presented. The available experimental works quoted in the open literature are critically analysed in order to highlight the main results obtained paying special attention to the correlation between mass flow rate and heat input. A comparison of the experimental results quoted in the open literature is made. It is observed how the various results are very different and in many cases the experimental data disagree with the conventional theory but they also appear to be inconsistent with one another. Various reasons can be identified to account for these differences but by comparing the available experimental data on closed loop two phase thermosyphons, it is evident that further systematic studies are required to generate a meaningful body of knowledge of the heat and mass transport mechanism in such a kind of devices for practical applications.

Abstract
Various reasons can be identified to account for these differences but by comparing the available experimental data on closed loop two phase thermosyphons, it is evident that further systematic studies are required to generate a meaningful body of knowledge of the heat and mass transport mechanism in such a kind of devices for practical applications.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
