Bergamasca is an Italian sheep breed with prevailing meat production attitude. Native of the Clusone plateau and the Bergamo valleys, it is actually present especially in Lombardy (Bergamo), but it is also spread in other regions of Northern and Central Italy, especially as crossing breed. This study was carried out in a single Bergamasca herd from Matelica (Province of Macerata -Marche) to estimate hereditability and repeatability of gastrointestinal parasite EPG (Eggs Per Gram) /OPG (Oocyst Per Gram) count.
