This paper aims to provide a model that describes the evolution of a community in terms of its effectiveness in supporting learning and knowledge management processes. It is based on an empirical research that has involved three case studies and the analysis of three best practices from secondary sources. Moreover, it has been identified a set of levers that allows the community to evolve in the model increasing its effectiveness.
