The intervention of protection on a vehicular road, after a landslide event due to a heavy rainfall, is presented. Collapse scenarios are presented together with simple models of failure for single falling blocks, useful to the design of steel barriers and wires. The content is referred to an application occurred in a vulnerable area located in Northern part of Italy, where the landslide collapsed on an important road. Specific reinforcements and safety features against rolling blocks are illustrated.
