On six vineyard collections around eight hundred accessions were preliminary described and genotyped afterwards more detailed studies were carried out to evaluate morphological traits, agronomic behaviour, grape and wine quality. A software for a “universal grapevine database” have been developed to support the activity of characterization of grapevine biodiversity (www.vitisdb.it)
