Building information modeling : the innovative A.E.C. dimension for the technical architecture mode

What is BIM? When the Building Information Modeling was still studied by a few enthusiasts, this text among the first in Italy, identifies the Building Information Modeling approach as a key resource for the success of the necessary relationship between the project and the realization of a work. Design and build are deeply related by the constructive detail: BIM highlights the need for a new conceptual and practice methodology, innovative and suitable for actualizing the tradition. Since fifteen years, the author develops research in this area, and in this text proposes the BIM as an international field of technical knowledge, scientific and cultural, really as a very complex system that cannot be defined uniquely. A computational resource able to spread as a concrete response to the growing complexity of the construction world. The BIM is a new dimension of interaction between man and work and consequently a system of concepts, methodologies and procedures able to open new ways for the technology and the knowledge in the fields of Engineering and Architecture. The Building Information Modeling collaborates, with others resources, to the transformation of the current scenario in which the contribution of innovative technologies and the implementation of new paradigms can be always developed for the quality of the human life.
