This paper focuses on the analysis of the hydraulic jump occurring on both fixed rough bed and movable stilling basin. Energy dissipation process is analyzed for hydraulic jumps occurring on fixed rough beds. The dissipative mechanism is discussed and compared with that occurring on smooth beds. Energy dissipation analysis is extended to hydraulic jumps occurring downstream of grade-control structures in the presence of movable stilling basin.

Abstract
