Abstract. Higher order is considered a good methodology for program design and specication, furthermore it is fundamental for rapid prototyping. In this paper, we show dierent approaches to write higher order programs in Java. Drawbacks and benets of such approaches are analyzed with reference to an example which is a typical one for higher order programming.
