Kelly-Tyson model is widely used to calculate the composites interfacial shear stress (IFSS). The K-T model neglects the stress at the fibers’ end, that is irrelevant for long fibers composites, but not for those with ultrashort fibers (aspect ratio < 10). In this work the contribution of stress at the fibers’ end has been added in the K-T model. Bio-based composites (PLA matrix with flax and cellulosic fibers) have been tested to vali-date the model.

Abstract
Kelly-Tyson model is widely used to calculate the composites interfacial shear stress (IFSS). The K-T model neglects the stress at the fibers’ end, that is irrelevant for long fibers composites, but not for those with ultrashort fibers (aspect ratio < 10). In this work the contribution of stress at the fibers’ end has been added in the K-T model. Bio-based composites (PLA matrix with flax and cellulosic fibers) have been tested to vali-date the model.File in questo prodotto:
