Two blind Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) benchmarks have been performed to assess the prediction accuracy of current CFD codes used by the participants against heat transfer data in different geometries. CFD calculations have been performed by the participants for tube (1st benchmark) and two different channel geometries (2nd benchmark). In the first round, blind CFD calculations have been conducted with initial boundary conditions and simpler CFD models. After the comparison of the results in the first round (blind phase), the calculations were repeated with the refined boundary conditions and material properties. Sensitivity analyses on the numerical mesh, the boundary conditions were performed. The objectives of this paper are to provide an overview about the investigated geometries, the used boundary conditions, suggested CFD settings, etc. of the two benchmarks, present the comparisons between the CFD predictions and measurements, and describe the outcome of the sensitivity analyses.
