A pioneering activity was completed dealing with the application of the well-established code Relap5 to the analysis of AP-600 innovative reactors. The key achievement was the demonstration of the applicability of the code to reactors having specific features not present in current generation of reactors. This involved the solution of problems like the draining of the Core Make-up Tank (CMT) and the establishment of Natural Circulation across the CMT. Both the issues were addressed in the code application documented in present paper and some preliminary demonstration of quality of the analysis was achieved.

Abstract
