The Topical Meeting has been attended by about 90 participants (more than 40 coming from overseas) with about 40 papers discussed. The Meeting was hosted and very well organized by KINS. The Meeting was directed by S. Lee (IAEA) and general co-chairs were M. El-Shanawany (IAEA) and Y.H. Ryu (KINS). The technical topics presented during the meeting, consistently with the discussion had in the final-plenary session, have been distinguished into four areas, making reference to nuclear reactor safety and licensing: • Use of advanced methods. • Role of risk informed regulation and/or systematic PSA (Probabilistic Safety Assessment) application. • Impact of Severe Accident and SAMG (Severe Accident Management Guidelines). • Specific topics considered in the papers or introduced by the panelists. The Meeting also constituted an occasion to show to the international community the high level of competence achieved by nuclear reactor researchers and specialists in Korea as well as the advanced technology available for the ‘nuclear safety infrastructure’. In the last connection, the visit to the KINS crisis centre and to the KAERI thermal-hydraulic and severe accident facilities was impressive. Hereafter a summary of the discussion had in the final-plenary session is provided that is supplemented, where appropriate, by discussions had in the occasion of the presentations and by concepts included in the written material made available by the participants, though not a systematic effort has been made in relation to such material. The final section of the document deals with recommendations to IAEA as a follow-up of the meeting.

Abstract
The Topical Meeting has been attended by about 90 participants (more than 40 coming from overseas) with about 40 papers discussed. The Meeting was hosted and very well organized by KINS. The Meeting was directed by S. Lee (IAEA) and general co-chairs were M. El-Shanawany (IAEA) and Y.H. Ryu (KINS). The Meeting also constituted an occasion to show to the international community the high level of competence achieved by nuclear reactor researchers and specialists in Korea as well as the advanced technology available for the ‘nuclear safety infrastructure’. Hereafter a summary of the discussion had in the final-plenary session is provided that is supplemented, where appropriate, by discussions had in the occasion of the presentations and by concepts included in the written material made available by the participants, though not a systematic effort has been made in relation to such material.
